Alaskans Afield
Overview
Alaskans Afield classes provide fun, hands-on learning of hunting, shooting, and outdoor skills needed to recreate safely in Alaska. Gain new skills or sharpen existing ones with enthusiastic and knowledgeable instructors. Classes are designed for both youth and adults. Come alone, bring a friend or the entire family and enjoy time together learning new outdoor skills.
Choose from a variety of classes such as outdoor survival, small game hunting, map & compass, tracking, riflery, archery and more. Class schedules can be found under the community tabs ( Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau, Mat-Su , Other Communities ).
Pre-registration and payment is required. Sign up early, as space is limited. Cost per class varies depending on materials/facilities; for most classes youth under 18 year-olds are FREE with each paying adult. Alaskans Afield classes are made possible by a cooperative effort between the Alaska Department of Fish and Game and our foundation, the Outdoor Heritage Foundation of Alaska.
Register for classes by clicking on the class title under the community where it is being held.
